Synopsis
Echoes of the Mind: A Five-Story PSA (2026) is an anthology film that examines the lasting impact of intergenerational race-related trauma and mental health across five interconnected narratives. The film follows individuals and their families as they navigate themes of ADHD and substance-induced psychosis, post-emancipation nutritional disparities, PTSD, and colorism. Across each story, characters endure pain, obstacles, and resilience as they move through cycles of struggle and restoration. As the narratives unfold, they journey toward treatment, reflection, personal growth, and healing.

Asante struggles with ADHD, yet is mistaken for defiance by his father, Kato, creating family conflict. His use of marijuana escalates into paranoia and a mental health crisis.

Samuel questions his nutritional health as Samantha struggles with appearance and self-esteem. Their family rethink their eating habits, and confront cultural traditions.

Cecilia and Zaire grow distant amid misunderstandings and unmet emotional needs. Their strained relationship reveals how easily mental health challenges can impact connection.

Shaped by Amos’ rigid post-emancipation discipline and toxic masculinity, Andrew confronts generations of inherited trauma, and dedicates himself to breaking the cycle.

Five Black teenagers navigate the pressures of colorism, identity, and belonging. Their experiences reveal the divisions and insecurities that exist within their community.
